Recovery Day at the Mariners 2020 is Cancelled

Out of concern for the health and safety of our supporters, volunteers, staff, and the recovery community as a whole, sadly we will not be kicking off National Recovery Month with our 2nd Annual Recovery Day at the Mariners on August 30th as planned.

This was a tough call to make. It was a momentous occasion last year to see almost 1800 of you packed into T-Mobile Park, living proof that recovery does happen. However, the most important thing for all of us right now is to stay healthy — and that means continuing to avoid large gatherings. Not forever, but for now.

We are working on two “events” to celebrate National Recovery Month in virtual and socially distanced ways instead:

First, we’ll have a virtual discussion about Recovery Coaching as a follow up to some of the content that was discussed at the Recovery Summit on June 1st. This date and registration information will be announced in August.

Second, with the leadership of the King County Recovery Coalition and participation of other coalitions across the state, we’re working on an incredibly cool concept to bring murals that celebrate recovery, created by people in recovery, to different regions. Our vision and hope is that while we can’t come together as a huge group, our recovery community can visit these murals on their own, take photos with them, and share their recovery stories and birthdays at the mural sites.

The recovery community is nothing if not resilient. We fully expect to have Recovery Day at the Mariners in 2021, and in the meantime, we know you’ll put your energy and love into other events that keep the momentum going.

Thanks for being part of our team and our community. Stay safe and healthy, until we can gather again.
