Elevate Recovery Advocacy is the Washington Recovery Alliance’s signature public policy and media engagement program. It is more than a training—it is the foundation of a statewide recovery movement. In the past two years, the WRA has trained over 500 Washingtonians who’ve been impacted by mental health and addiction challenges.
Elevate trainings provide tangible skills, such as:
– How to tell your (or a loved one or client’s) story in a way that is succinct and compelling
– Understanding the legislative process at different levels of government
– How to persuade a policymaker
– How to work with the media
– How to get involved in the recovery movement
Elevate Training of Trainers Cohort – Application due July 20
Thanks to generous funding from the Office of Consumer Partnerships, the WRA is launching our first Elevate Training of Trainers cohort. Successful Elevate trainer candidates will do more than simply deliver Elevate trainings. Trainers will be sparks of hope and catalysts for change in their own communities.
The Elevate Training of Trainers will take place September 16-18 in Seabeck, WA on Hood Canal. This will be a competitive application process and three regional teams of three candidates each will be selected. Teams must apply together as a group of three from the same geographic area.
Here is the application packet: Elevate Training of Trainers Application Packet (Word) and Elevate Training of Trainers Application Packet (PDF). The completed packet, including the individual and team portions, is due by Friday, July 20.
